Here’s another reason why Melodia Studio shines: Rita Gigliotti ensures there are always opportunities for students to work with experts across the performing arts industry. This winter, she welcomes Andrew Goldstein, a professional performer, educator, and former vocal sectional instructor of the South Lakes High School Chorus, as Guest Voice Teacher through December 2025.

Voice Lessons Grounded in Art and Anatomy

Andrew brings a valuable combination of performance experience and clinical expertise. He is a voice and piano teacher as well as a speech-language pathologist (SLP). Speech-Language Pathologists must have a strong understanding of how the muscles in the throat function to prevent, diagnose, and treat voice, articulation, or swallowing disorders.

That foundation gives Andrew a sharper ear for what is happening physically when a singer produces sound and a more precise ability to identify and correct tension or misuse. Because of this training, he can combine his background in singing with therapeutic insight to help performers avoid or recover from common vocal challenges like overuse, nodules, and strain. Students benefit from instruction that is both artistically inspired and scientifically informed, helping them sing with clarity, confidence, and long-term vocal health. Andrew recently joined Melodia Studio’s Finding Calm in the Chaos workshop series for Pre-Professional students in September.

Outside the classroom, Andrew performs professionally, most recently appearing in Aida at the Kennedy Center, while also maintaining a full-time position in his clinical field. His teaching is warm, precise, and grounded in real-world technique. Students who train with him can expect detailed feedback on tone, diction, and presence.

What Parents Can Expect

Rita’s long-term vision for Melodia Studio has always been clear. She provides elite-level vocal training that balances technical excellence with mental, emotional and physical well-being. Bringing Andrew onto the team continues that mission.

Andrew’s clinical training makes him uniquely attuned to the physical demands of singing. For students pursuing competitive programs in vocal performance or musical theater, that combination of vocal wellness and advanced technique is essential.

After returning from travels in Scotland and London, Andrew will begin teaching at the beginning of December.

He will offer:

  • Master classes on vocal hygiene, artistry, and audition preparation

  • Substitute teaching when Rita is away for conferences or writing weeks

  • Support for NATS regionals, college auditions, and competition prep

Stay tuned for more updates as Melodia Studio continues to bring world-class training and mentorship to young performers in Northern Virginia.
