October was an incredibly rewarding month at Melodia Studio, as our students took to the stage in both the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) Musical Theater Competition and the Virginia National Association of Teachers of Singing (VA NATS) In-Person Auditions.
I’m so proud to announce that for the NATS Musical Theatre Competition Olivia Ho, Anahi Salinas Rodriguez, and Chloe Corlett each earned 1st place in their divisions. Manasvi Theetla, Daniel Plummer, and Romain Dairay achieved 2nd in their divisions. Shane Gibson earned 3rd place in his division. In addition, Hannah Garkavi and Dorothy Ritter received Honors in their respective categories. Everyone scored in the top 10% making them each eligible to compete in the NATS Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition in March.
The following students participated in the NVMTA Musical Theatre Competition: Emma Bevington, Henry Blevins, Savannah Day, Michael Collins, Romain Dairay, Hannah Garkavi, Shane Gibson, Daniel Plummer, Callie Reynolds, Dorothy Ritter, Anahi Salinas- Rodriguez, Hanna Stolle, Sabrina Ziaya.
In Division I Anahi Salinas-Rodriguez placed 1st along with honorable mentions for Sabrina Ziaya and Hanna Stolle. In Division II Hannah Garkavi placed 1st along with Shane Gibson placing 2nd and Daniel Plummer receiving Honorable Mention. In Division III Dorothy Ritter placed 1st along with Romain Dairay placing 2nd and Michael Collins earning an Honorable Mention.
Every one of you brought focus, artistry, and heart to your performances. Whether this was your very first competition or another milestone in your journey, you stretched your limits, shared your voice, and embodied the spirit of Melodia Studio. Families, thank you for your unwavering support and trust.
To potential students and families exploring the studio: this gallery captures what happens when dedicated preparation meets performance opportunity. These students embody growth both on and off the stage. Enjoy reliving these moments of courage and joy, and know that at Melodia Studio, you’ll find both community and a path to shine.
