Coffee with Jake Odmark

Updated: 4 days ago

On Saturday, January 24th, The Gigliotti Center for the Performing Arts and Well-Being hosted parents at Chateau de Chantilly Cafe for a relaxed coffee meetup to welcome our newest teaching artist, Jake Odmark.

This was a chance for families of young performing artists to connect with Jake in a private setting, ask questions, and get to know the person behind the credits.

Welcoming Jake Odmark to the Team at The Gigliotti Center for the Performing Arts and Well-Being

Jake brings more than a decade of Broadway experience to the table, most recently starring as the lead in Broadway’s Shucked. After completing a nationwide tour, he returned to the DC area and officially joined the team.

The meetup gave parents an opportunity to hear Jake’s story, learn how he approaches training young performers, and get a feel for what students can expect working with him. Parents were able to ask thoughtful questions about audition preparation, performance training, and how to support young artists as they navigate both passion and discipline in the performing arts.

Building a Bridge to Broadway

A big theme of the morning was the “Bridge to Broadway” we’re building here in DC, helping students not only develop the skills, confidence, and mindset that support long-term growth in the performing arts, but to also build the network to get there along the way.

What’s Next with Jake Odmark

Jake will be leading three upcoming events, including two workshop series designed to strengthen students’ stage skills and performance foundations. You can learn more about these opportunities here.

Jake will also have limited availability for 1:1 acting coaching for students who want more personalized guidance, audition support, or deeper skill-building in addition to voice lessons.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out to meet Jake, and we’re excited for what’s ahead as our students learn from his experience and artistry!
